The national convention of the Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante (AEA) party chose businessman Álvaro Noboa as its presidential candidate this Wednesday morning.
The announcement was made by Sylka Sánchez after the party leaders met to analyze the candidacy.
According to Sánchez, the primaries were held with an overseer from the National Electoral Council (CNE)
“Unanimously, the directors of the provinces have voted for attorney Álvaro Noboa as the presidential candidate,” said Sánchez.
Noboa’s nomination comes amid a process of cancellation of the Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante party by the CNE.
AEA had planned to announce its presidential candidate on August 9, but could not because the CNE did not send its overseer, because the party allegedly did not challenge it. The Party on List 7 claims that it challenged the resolution.
For this match, the cancellation is suspended until the challenge process is resolved, so AEA remains “alive.” (I)
