Affiliates of the Peasant Social Security request the resignation of the IESS director

Monday, just after the change of presidential guard, hundreds of members of the Peasant Social Security of Manabi, Los Rios, Napo, Pichincha and other sectors clamored, outside the Carondelet Palace, the resignation of the chairman of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social security (IESS) Richard Espinosa.
The affiliates carried signs of support to President Rafael Correa, but rejected Espinosa´s policies.
The reason? The adoption of resolutions 509 and 516 which, they say, would affect the autonomy of the Rural Social Security and the existence of rural social organizations, as an individual affiliation outside the organization arises. This is the Regulation of Insurance, Collection and Portfolio Management of the IESS and the Functional Partial Amendment to the Organic Statute of the IESS.
