Alan Garcia: “No One Will Back Down the Integration Among Peru and Ecuador”
On his arrival to Ecuador, Peruvian President Alan Garcia met with his counterpart Rafael Correa, to which he proposed a gradual demilitarization of the border between both countries. Afterwards he informed his successor will not “back down” the way that has been all ready set regarding the integration between the two nations.
“Be sure that whatever the outcome of the elections in Peru (…) is, no one will back down what we have done with President Correa to bring forward friendship, unity, and integration among Peru and Ecuador,” said the Peruvian chief executive.
Garcia also discussed issues concerning to the integration between the two countries and developments in the economy between them in the next five years. He also stressed that Peru has a “fraternal friendship agreement of cooperation and trust” with Ecuador.
