ALBA members meet in Caracas to address tensions between the US and Venezuela
The block of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) will meet this Tuesday in Caracas to assess the tensions between the US and Venezuela, and define joint positions for the VII Summit of the Americas next month.
President Nicolas Maduro will meet with his regional allies who have expressed their backing before the decision by the US government to freeze the assets of seven Venezuelan officials and the declaration of the South American country as an extraordinary threat to the national security.
The US measures occurred just days after Maduro agreed the staff reduction of the US Embassy in Caracas and the visa requirement for American tourists.
Maduro advance last Sunday that this meeting of presidents and prime ministers of ALBA will also address all matters related to the Seventh Summit of the Americas to be held in Panama between 10 and 11 April.
