Albert and Charlene’s Wedding Highlights (Video)

Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittsstock united their lives in marriage, they held a civil wedding on Friday where only family and close friends attended, and a church ceremony yesterday, where 3500 guests attended, including representatives of the royal houses of half of the world, heads of state, and some celebrities.

Among the actors was Nicolas Sarkozy, French president, someone with enough power to phagocytose Monaco if the Grimaldi dynasty is not ensured. Alberto has been slow to do so, he got married at 53 after ten years of relationship with Charlene, five years living together, one year engaged and after carrying on the throne he agreed after the death of Rainier for six years.

The Church of Saint Devote, the largest in the Principality, was not the scene of the marriage, the couple married in the Grimaldi palace courtyard, fitted for the occasion. A large white tent shielded the sun and a huge red carpet-which gave a Hollywood touch to the occasion-, where Charlene walked wearing a stunning wedding dress designed by Giorgio Armani.
