Ecuadornews:
Former legal secretary of the Presidency of the government of Rafael Correa, Alexis Mera, went to the Office of the Public Prosecutor Monday to render his version in the case of the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht.
According to Mera, there are accounts payable to Odebrecht for $80 million that are frozen. In his opinion, that money should be charged to the Brazilian firm as compensation.
About Ricardo R., uncle of Vice President Jorge Glas, who is detained, Mera said that “his accounts never appeared,” according to information obtained from the Financial Analysis Unit. “I never went out in defense of Mr. Rivera, worse now,” he said. (I)
