All Galapagos adults will be vaccinated until the end of May
The Galapagos archipelago will be the first in Latin America to achieve collective immunity to covid-19, as reported by the National Government on Friday, April 16, 2021. Until the end of May, the entire population will have received the two doses of the vaccine.

The announcement was made by Vice President María Alejandra Muñoz
Vice President María Alejandra Muñoz announced that the inhabitants of the islands, who are over 18 years old, will be inoculated in the coming weeks. This thanks to an agreement that the Government signed with the Pfizer laboratory.
The pharmaceutical company will send an advance of 40,000 doses, scheduled to arrive in Ecuador in the last week of April. Then they will be transferred from the mainland to the island region. The idea is that no adult remains unvaccinated.
