Alvaro Noboa Talks About the Reopening of Cartonera and Banacont
During a press conference, Alvaro Noboa thanked and congratulated the Ecuadorian workers of Banacont and Cartonera Industry for their support during the closure by the IRS to these businesses on May 30, 2011.
The closure of these companies was made by the Internal Revenue Service under the allegation of a failure in the delivery of their respective Income Tax 2010 declarations. However, in the official website of the SRI, both companies were included on the list of companies that have updated tax obligations data.
After touring the facilities of Cartonera with Leonardo Noboa, General Manager, the bussines man confirmed that Noboa Group is the largest producer and employer in the country, as well as a “business model” that has paid all their taxes on time.
The managers of the closed companies ratified that they had their tax returns filed by May 26, as requested by the IRS.
Noboa also spoke, during his tour, about the productive area of the country asserting that more support is needed in order to generate domestic investment.
“In Ecuador, there have been no investments for many years,” said Noboa who indicated that one of his missions is to ensure foreign investment to come into the country.
