Alvaro Noboa will vote for Guillermo Lasso

Posted On 16 Mar 2017
Alvaro Noboa, the leader of the Adelante Ecuatoriano Adelante party, revealed on March 15 his political stance regarding the second round of elections. Through a video posted on Youtube, the five-time presidential hopeful said he would vote for Guillermo Lasso (Creo-SUMA party). “Ecuadorians, in these next presidential elections to be held on April 2 I am going to vote for Mr. Guillermo Lasso, because I am against the continuity, against Economist Rafael Correa, against his administration and his ideology,” he stated.
According to Noboa, this model of government has brought “poverty to Ecuador, unemployment, a high cost of living and the proliferation of drugs in schools.” Hence, a change is necessary. In these elections, Noboa did not run. He hoped that an opposition alliance could be achieved to confront the ruling party, he also questioned the dispersion of the votes. Although his party presented Legislators for the elections, they did not get enough votes.
