American Troops Killed in Kabul Attack
This Saturday 13 U.S. troops fell in Kabul when a suicide bomber struck a vehicle of a NATO military convoy. NATO’s International Security Assistance Force confirmed the death of 13 soldiers, however they did not specify their nationalities.
An official informed that the details continue to unfold; it is believed that a reinforced bus was transporting the soldiers from one base to another. Hashmat Stanikzai, Kabul’s police chief, added that the attack left several NATO and Afghan casualties. Four Afghans, including two students were also killed.
According to Stanikzai the vehicle used for the attack appeared to be a red Toyota Corolla that was packed with a large amount of explosives. The deaths were the largest single-day U.S. loss of troops in Afghanistan. (AV)
