Anonymous Deactivated the Syrian Ministry of Defence Website

Today the organization of hackers, Anonymous, deactivated the website of the Syrian Ministry of Defence as a sign of protest against the crackdown on demonstrators.

Anonymous posted on its Tumblr blog a screenshot of the web page hacked before it was taken offline. Pictures of bloodied demonstrators and a message to the Syrian people were also in the page.

“To the Syrians: the world fights with you against the brutal regime of Bashar al-Assad,” the message said. “We know that time and history are on their side. The tyrants resort to violence because they have nothing else, and the most violent are those who become more fragile.”
