ANT will train local governments in their transit competences
From 13 to 17 October, 78 local governments in Ecuador will be trained on the competencies of transit these should assume until April 2015, as recorded in the Constitution, Traffic Law and the Organic Code of Territorial Planning and Decentralization (COOTAD) . The National Transit Agency (ANT for its Spanish acronym) will be responsible.
In the country 3 management models were established to divide the local governments according to the capacity these have to deal to take care of the transit in their cities. In the first group (A) there are 7 which must assume full control. In B there are 10 cities that need to manage the registration, vehicle revision and authorization certificates. While the latter group (C) will only manage the authorization certificates.
