AP takes the lead with two-thirds of the Assembly
According to the quick count released yesterday by Participación Ciudadana, Alianza PAIS movement (AP) reaches two thirds of the new National Assembly.
The new results give the movement 91 of the 137 seats contested in the polls. This figure may be higher, because in that study, it was not included the assembly members for the migrants, which are six more seats.
The second legislative force would be CREO with 10 Assembly members, plus 1 in partnership with the Partido Social Cristiano (PSC), which would be, with 8 assembly members, the third legislative force. However, list 6 ensures that they will reach 11 seats.
Participación Ciudadana analyzed the records of 9,500 tables (23% of total) and took into account the Webster method for national assemble members and the D’Hont for provincial ones; it also considered individual votes.
Luis Morales, of the Partido Renovador Institucional Acción Nacional (PRIAN), movement that, according to Participación Ciudadana, has no lawmakers, warns that this scenario occurred, among other things, over the alleged persecution by the regime to Alvaro Noboa and the destruction of political groups with the scandal of the forged signatures. Morales also said that many political groups did not understand the effects of the D’Hondt method.
