Appearance of Carlos Polit is requested in court proceedings against Augusto Espinosa

Assemblyman Bayron Pacheco (Avanza party), author of the request for impeachment against Minister of Education Augusto Espinosa, requested the appearance of State Comptroller General Carlos Polit, within the stage of substantiation to the Audit Commission.

Pacheco wants that Polit gives a general report on the validity of the Regulations for Administration, Use, Management and Control of Goods and Existence of the Public Sector and particularly with respect to Section 5, which states: “The protection of property includes the hiring of insurance policies necessary to safeguard them against various risks that may occur, for which the validity and risk of insurance coverage will be periodically verified.”

The opposition legislator also requested that, in the case of existing insurance policy contracts between the Ministry of Education and the state insurance companies Sucre and Rocafuerte, their managers shall deliver certified copies of these documents to serve as evidence.
