Apple will Pay a Fine for False Advertising
This advertisement, broadcasted worldwide, claims that the iPad3 can connect directly to 4G networks in the oceanic country. However, the 4G network from Telstra Company operates in 1800MH frequency, while the iPad3 runs with frequency standards available in the U.S. and Canada, channels that will operate in Australia in 2015.
In addition, the company had to pay $ 305,300 for legal expenses, according to the order of the judge of the Federal Court of Victoria State, Mordy Bromberg, who called this misleading advertising, “serious and unacceptable”.
For Bromberg, the most serious issue is that the company has not denied “the intent of his conduct” and that the evidence did not try to “excuse or explain” since the campaign was ordered by Apple’s headquarters.
