The arbitration to define who will bear the additional costs of $ 1,600 million in the expansion project of the Panama Canal will begin on July 21 in Miami. This seeks to progress the works.
“Both sides will present their arguments and draft procedural orders about how the case will develop,” said Carolyn Lamm, Attorney of White & Case, who represents a consortium led by Spanish builder firm Sacyr.
In an agreement signed in March, the Panama Canal Authority, controlled by Sacryr and the Italian Salini Impregilo consortium agreed to inject $ 100 million to resume works.
