Germany asks USA explanations for spying

The information on this allegued double agent arises months after the revelation that the U.S. intelligence services supposedly had intervened the cell phone of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, which angered several German political leaders.

“Now I hope that each helps to clarify complaints quickly and (hopefully) quick and clear statements, including the United States,” said German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere to the daily Bild.
