Argentina asks U.S. to suspend sentence for hedge funds
Posted On 24 Jun 2014
Argentina requested this Monday the suspension of the judgment of New York Judge Thomas Griesa. This statement forces the payment of $ 1,330 million to hedge funds.
“It is essential that the judge grant this measure so Argentina can continue paying to its bondholders of the restructure normally and, thereby, carry out a dialogue we need to be on equal conditions for the hundred percent of creditors”, said Axel Kicilloff, Minister of Economy, in a brief press conference.
Griesa appointed the attorney Daniel Pollak, to preside the negotiations between the parties, according to a document to which the AFP had access.
