On the afternoon of March 26, 2018, Army troops discovered an illegal camp that was occupied by dissidents of the FARC guerrillas. The finding occurred in the area known as Manzayá, in the border province of Sucumbíos.
Three combat teams entered the place through the river and through the air. After leaving the boats, the uniformed ones walked at least 30 minutes and discovered an area with nine beds, with a kitchen area and hot pots.
Under the three tents were medicines and bandages covered with red spots. The military said intelligence work to detect this camp began two months ago. The first military investigations do not rule out that this site has been used to rest. (I)
