Arregui: “The Ecuadorian society is under attack”
“An attack to the family and the dignity of people through public health policies“, is, according to Archbishop of Guayaquil, Antonio Arregui, what is happening in Ecuador, referring to the government’s decision to provide free birth control pills and condoms at health units in the country.
The statement was made yesterday, before the homily to be held on the occasion of the pilgrimage of Cristo del Consuelo, outside the Espiritu Santo Church.
“We need the kind of solidarity that groups around the family institution, from where the new Ecuadorians can emerge, educated in a school of love and respect and promotion of all values,” said Arregui as part of his message before thousands of devotees.
The archbishop concluded his message with a prayer before the new Administration takes office in May 24.
