Julian Assange under the European arrest warrant
The founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange asked the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom to reopen his case in an attempt to avoid his extradition to Sweden due to some sex charges against him.
A spokesman of the court in London confirmed to EFE that several documents were presented with request of the Australian activist of 41-years-old.
Now the judges of the will begin studying such documents, although the judges spokesperson did not said when will the give their statements about it. The last May 30, the Supreme Court gave a green light to the extradition of Assange to Sweden.
Assange’s attorneys discussed that the order from Sweden was not valid since a prosecutor and not a judge made it. However three courthouses consider that the European arrest warrant emitted by the Swedish authorities has all the legal requirements in order. (AV)
