Assembly approves the Banking Crisis Law with 102 votes

The report of the second discussion of the 1999 Banking Crisis Law was adopted on Thursday at the plenary of the National Assembly, with 102 votes in favor and 1 against. This new law which will be sent to the Executive for its veto or presidential acceptance was given organic character.
The Rapporteur of the project, Juan Carlos Cassinelli took about thirty minutes to detail the changes and suggestions that were included in the report, including the recalculation of debts by segments, the granting of a year of grace to debtors in good faith, expand within 5 to 6 years the term to pay debts; In addition, in 60 days the Superintendency of banks should review the list of unlinked debtors who was sent by the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE).
