Assembly processes sanction against Dalo Bucaram
Abdala Bucaram Pulley, Assembly member from PRE political party, face a sanctioning process by the Legislative Administration Council (CAL for its Spanish acronym), which accepted the request of legislator Zobeida Gudino, for having discriminated and offended the Alianza PAIS Assembly member.
He has a period of five days to prepare his defense, but yesterday, at a press conference, he challenged the PAIS Assembly member, Maria Augusta Calle, to take him to trial, after she publicly asked him to prove his statements before a prosecutor.
Dalo Bucaram had claimed that some of the women assembly members “… gets drunk within the facilities of the Assembly and dance in the corridors with their advisors.” “So prosecute me and take me to the Prosecutor’s Office … I’m not going to be silenced,” he said.
Bucaram is facing an administrative penalty request from Gudino of 30 days without payment.
