Attack on FARC Leaves 22 Dead

The biggest military operative lead by the Colombian Army against the FARC left 22 dead rebel soldiers. The event took place near the border with Ecuador. According to the report of the Colombian government.
Sixto Antonio Cabañas a.k.a “Domingo Biojó” and political chief of Frente 48 of the FARC died during the bombings of this Sunday near the river San Miguel. An area close to the south border of Ecuador in Putumayo, Rodrigo Rivera the Defense Minister revealed this information.
Rivera revealed that “Domingo Biojó” was part of select board of the FARC known as Estado Mayor. He was one of 50 leading guerrilla members wanted by the United States because of his drug connections; the Interpol had a red flag on him as well.
Besides being really close to the founder of the FARC, Pedro Antonio Marín a.k.a “Manuel Marulanda Vélez” or “Tirofijo” and with “Raúl Reyes” in that time he
was the international spokesman of the rebel group, both died in 2008.
Minister of Defense Rivera said he was also in charge of the “political work” of the Bloque Sur of the FARC.
“This was the strongest attack against the FARC in recent years”, Rivera confirmed that this achievement is thanks to the skill and intelligence of the national police, the Air Force and the Army.
The Frente 48 of the FARC was target of the bombings this Sunday, group responsible for the death of 8 police officers on September 10 in the district of San Miguel, Putumayo. This is one of the biggest attacks of the narcoterrorist group since the Presidential election of Juan Manuel Santos in August 7.
Colombian Armed Forces responded with bombings to the attacks and guerrilla ambushes executed during September that left more than 40 military and police officers dead. This lead the UN to express his concern because the increment of hostilities.
The number of fallen guerrilla soldiers remains at 22, but the commander of the Colombia Military Forces, Admiral Edgar Cely warn today in Radio Caracol that according to the intelligence report there could be at least 60 more dead of the narco group Frente 48 of the FARC.
