Ecuadornews:
Attorney General Carlos Baca Mancheno said today that there is much more serious evidence than the videos and audios submitted so far on the Odebrecht case. In an interview in the Pensamiento Critico program, broadcast by EcuadorTV, Baca referred to the testimony of informer Jose Conceição, made public last week, in which he says that the company paid $ 14 million in bribes to Vice President Jorge Glas.
“Denunciations are clues, necessary to continue the investigations, but they are not evidence. They have a fundamental value because they direct the investigations… the recordings are not all the evidence the Office of the Attorney General received, they are a part,” Baca said.
Baca Mancheno also indicated that there is stronger evidence such as bank transfers. “All that is under process,” he said. According to the Attorney General, the agency will take the time necessary to investigate, with the commitment to do in the right way. “Rest assured that the Prosecutor’s Office will not act on anyone’s pressure,” Baca Mancheno stated.
