Banana problems in analysis among 35 scientists

The challenges of the global banana sector will be analyzed next April at a conference in the United States that will feature about 600 participants and is organized by the National Banana Corporation of Costa Rica (Corbana) and the Association for Research and Integrated Management of Bananas (Acorbat).

Corbana general manager Jorge Sauma_ said that one of the central issues will be the battle against the fungus Fusarium Race 4, known as “Panama disease,” which causes one of the worst diseases for banana plantations.

A total of 35 specialists from countries like China, Australia, the Philippines, the Netherlands, France, USA, South Africa, Spain, Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil, will attend the meeting to share knowledge and analyze the challenges currently faced by the world banana sector.
