Barcelona and Boca Juniors need to win

Barcelona and Boca, idol teams in Ecuador and Argentina respectively, were defeated last Saturday, against Deportivo Quito and All Boys in their respective local tournaments, previously to their meeting in Libertadores Cup on Wednesday, at the Monumental stadium of Guayaquil.

The Canarian team coached by the Argentinean Gustavo Costas accumulated his third loss in a row (Liga de Loja 2-1, 2-5 against Independiente and 1-0 with D. Quito) in five disputed dates of the national championship and shares the last position with Deportivo Cuenca, accumulating just 2 points (-5).

Yesterday,  Xeneize’s team signed its first defeat within  the “gaucho” tournament when they were beaten 2-0 by All Boys and now is located at the bottom of the tournament scoreboard, with 4 points (-1).

Barcelona, reigning ecuadorian soccer team, will receive Boca Juniors at 17:45 in the city of Guayaquil with the objective of getting  the three points and settle at the top of the group 1 of the Bridgestone Libertadores Cup, where  National of Uruguay leads the scoreboard with 4 points and Toluca is second with three.
