This Sunday, Barcelona S.C. (Sporting Club) was defeated by 1-2 against El Nacional at the Monumental Stadium in Guayaquil.

This defeat meant to Barcelona the loss of three points that were needed to secure its lead in the standings.

Marco Caicedo (El Nacional) opened the score at minute 22. Almost at the end of the first half, Fricson Erazo temporarily tied to the “bullfighters” (Barcelona). However, a few minutes into the second half, Juan Luis Anangono (51mins), won the defining goal for the visitors.

Barcelona remains the leader the National Soccer Championship with 34 points, but are now very near from Independiente and Liga de Loja (his next opponent), both with 33 points.
