Bejamin Cevallos Removes Judge Santiago Coba

Posted On 11 Jul 2011

This weekend the President of the Judicial Council, Benjamin Cevallos, dismissed Santiago Coba from his charge for being “violating the constitution.” Cevallos added that Coba “is a ignorant judge that has no knowledge regarding the laws at all.” Now the infighting of the Judicial Council in Ecuador seems to be ending after the Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa stated that this week a new transition directory will be set.

Correa pointed out the shame that the Cevallos problem has brought since one judge has displaced Cevallos and another reincorporates him and so on. The President said that the current Judicial Council has lost its legitimacy. (AV)
