Benedict Asks young people to Follow Christ through the Church

One of the official messages that Pope Benedict XVI gave to over one million people at the close of World Youth Day (WYD) in Spain was the call to young Catholics to follow their faith not “on their own”, but according to the structures of Catholic Church.

“You cannot follow Jesus on your own. (…) Whoever that surrenders to the temptation to go on his/her own, takes the risk of never finding Jesus Christ or may end following a false image, “said the Pope yesterday a few hours to complete his visit to Madrid.

During his visit, the Pope also asked young people to get more involved in Christianity, to go to mass, to confess frequently and to pray. He also recommended them to get more involved in their parishes, communities and movements.

The next edition of the World Youth Day will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, announced the Pope. (BG)
