Ecuadornews:
The Guayllabamba Zoo opened the exhibition called ‘Rapaces en vuelo,’ where 15 types of birds of prey fly and stand while visitors admire their skills in the air from the podium.
There are 99 species in Ecuador. They can be found throughout the Ecuadorian territory: from the coast to the high moors. “We have succeeded in aiding the species to regain their ability to fly, to move their wings again, not only to drive away but to fly,” said Director of the Zoological Foundation of Ecuador and the Quito Zoo in Guayllabamba Martin Bustamante.
According to the expert, this natural exhibition not only intends to achieve the welfare of animals but to create a space to reflect on animal care and human responsibility.
