According to several Mexican media, the leader of the cartel Los Zetas, Miguel Angel Trevino Morales, alias “Z40“, was arrested yesterday in northern Mexico during a surprise operation of the Navy, in a place between the states of Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

‘Z-40‘ is considered as the most bloodthirsty drug-lord and leader of the most feared drug trafficking group in Mexico, Los Zetas, which employed more violent practices, which were known during the struggles between the Mexican cartels.

A drug dealer since the 1990s when he joined a group of bodyguards of the then leader of the Gulf Cartel, Osiel Cardenas, and leader of the organization after he was killed in October 2012 his predecessor, Heriberto Lazcano, alias “El Lazca” whose body was stolen by Trevino from a funerary.

United States offered $ 5 million and Mexico 2.5 million more for helping in his capture.

According to press reports, ‘Z-40‘ got rid of his enemies by putting them in containers of oil, dousing them with gasoline and setting them on fire, a practice known as “cooking”. Or dismembered his victims while they were still alive.

A ‘Z-40‘ killings are attributed several Latino migrants who sought illegally crossing the Mexican border into the United States. Due to those groups several Ecuadorians were killed.
