Cableway will link Guayaquil and Duran
The Prefecture of Guayas announced the construction of the Guayaquil-Duran cableway, which will be an alternative to public transportation and will empower tourism in both cities.
This Friday April 24, the Prefecture of Guayas and the private company Prostatus, in charge of the Quito cableway construction, signed the contract for the construction of the “Fluvial Teleférica.”
According to the Prefecture, this means of transport “will not only feature cutting-edge technology, but will also be environmentally friendly like the cableways of the main cities in the world, carrying about 20,000 people daily, thus helping the vehicular decongestion.”
This work will link the Duran boardwalks with the Prefecture´s warehouses, alongside the Pedro Menéndez Gilbert avenue, in the north of Guayaquil. The Municipality of Duran will donate seven hectares of land and will grant the construction permits.
