CAL gave way to impeachment against former attorney Diego Garcia

The Legislative Administration Council (CAL) of the National Assembly unanimously gave way to the start of the political trial against the ex-State Attorney, Diego García.
The decision was taken on Tuesday, September 18, once the compliance with the requirements established in the Organic Law of the Legislative Function was verified, which must be substantiated by the Commission of Control and Political Control.
However, the treatment of this trial must wait while the Commission of Inspection evacuates two trials that are pending, because it can only analyze one by one. In mid-June, with 37 signatures of support (CREO, SUMA, Bancada de Integración Nacional (BIN) and independents),
Assemblywoman Mae Montaño presented the request for a lawsuit against García. She argued alleged arrogation of functions, negligence in judicial representation of the State in the trial of former Vice President Jorge Glas, and the return of Odebrecht. (I)
