Ecuadornews:

Ecuador hopes to improve its relationship with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and is also willing to resolve a long dispute with the US oil company Chevron, Commerce Minister Pablo Campana told Reuters on Friday in New York.
According to the publication, the Minister said that the country is seeking help to overcome the fiscal gap of $ 3.5 billion for this year.
“An IMF loan could help the country,” he said. Campana said that the current president Lenin Moreno opposed the elimination of subsidies for vulnerable sectors but still holds the hope that an agreement could be reached. (I)
