Capriles insists that he won Venezuelan elections
The former presidential candidate and opposition leader in Venezuela, Henrique Capriles, said yesterday that the decision of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) of declaring as “unacceptable” his challenge on the presidential elections of last April 14, just means “more than clear” that he was the true winner.
Besides rejecting the challenge, the TSJ also decided that Capriles’ lawsuit contains “offensive and disrespectful concepts against this room and other public bodies” which is why they have put a $ 1,700 fine and the possibility of being prosecuted, according to a court statement.
For his part, Capriles said that he will appeal to international bodies to “protect the rights” of Venezuelans and highlighted that the unacceptable thing in Venezuela is the lack of justice, the corruption “of the Government” and the insecurity.
“Look, high judges of the Supreme Court, I will not rest until there is justice in this country for Venezuelans,” said the opposition leader.
