Starting today, Monday June 10, until June 21 the Preliminary Inquiries Unit and Instructions Prosecutor will receive versions from former COFIEC officials and members of the Government on the preliminary investigation by the irregular loan of $ 800 000 granted by the bank to the entrepreneur Gaston Duzac.
So far two of the summoned must attend with the help of the police, this is the third call and have not yet been submitted. In this case consists of COFIEC’s former executive president, Antonio Bunay, and the former manager of Agricultural Mercedes AGM, Esteban Garzon.
Bunay is cited for tomorrow at 09h00 and Garzon, on Wednesday at the same time. Both are key players because Bunay was responsible for approving the disbursement of money through a personal approval where he signed by various officials who were not there. Later it became the transfer abroad.
Garzon for his part should explain delivery guarantees for Agricultural Duzac Mercedes. However, this entrepreneur had no right to such guarantees since the property is seized by the state.
Today at 09h00 COFIEC’s Credit Officer, Maria Zoila Montalvo Palacios, must appear. On Thursday Robert Andrade Torres, former member of Rocafuerte Insurance Directory; must attend since it was during his administration that the first loan guarantees were given.
