Case El Universo Will begin their Appeals

Yesterday, the three lawyers that represent Emilio Palacio were preparing to null and appeal the sentence given by the temporal judge, Juan Paredes.

Meanwhile Leon Roldos, Jorge Alvear and Byron Lopez, will meet tomorrow to elaborate and deliver a document.

This Tuesday the document will be presented at the end of the three days period to appeal against the sentence. The rest of the lawyers of case El Universo and the defendants presented their appeals last Friday. Monica Vargas, Perez brothers’ lawyer, presented their null appeal.

Meanwhile President Correa’s lawyer, Alembert Vera appealed the sentence to obtain the payment of $80 million as requested. Yesterday, Leon Roldos stated that the sentence is null because it has “rude Constitution violations,” since the proofs of Emilio Palacio were not presented. (AV)
