CC admits lawsuit against Galapagos Law

The Constitutional Court (CC) declared admissible the claim of unconstitutionality of the the Special Regime Law of Galapagos published in June 2015, but dismissed the requested precautionary measures.

The action was filed in August this year by Fanny Uribe, Angel Vilema, Mirtha Cedeno, Jairo Gusqui and Steven Romero. The first two are assemblymen.

Reporting judge Pamela Martinez, ordered the notification to President Rafael Correa; the head of the Assembly, Gabriela Rivadeneira, and Attorney Diego Garcia, to intervene defending or challenging, in a fifteen days term.
