CC will resume demands to the LOC next week
The processing of the claims of unconstitutionality to the Organic Communications Law, which were raised by political, social, and academic sectors, will continue on Tuesday, August 26, for full disposal of the Constitutional Court (CC).
That day the reading of the report prepared by the rapporteur Judge María del Carmen Maldonado will be resumed, which began during the extraordinary session yesterday, August 20.
The draft statement has more than 280 sheets. An analysis of constitutionality is made in it and the resolution of the three lawsuits (now accumulated in one) are raised to the plenary of the Court .
Among the topics that appear in the lawsuit are: the further responsibility, previous censorship, the joint responsibility of the media, communications as a public service, and the powers of the Regulatory Council of Communication and Communication Superintendent.
The shares were raised by Assemblyman Luis Fernando Torres (PSC-Cambio), Professor Farith Simon and a group of politicians, journalists and former officials represented by the news anchor Diego Cornejo.
