Ceasefire between Israel and Palestine is extended another 24 hours
Israel and Palestine have extended 24 hour the ceasefire to provide extra time for the indirect talks they resumed today in Cairo, and which tries to develop a work plan for the devastated Gaza strip by war.
According to information of a Palestinian delegation member, both delegations “agreed to extend 24-hour ceasefire,” one hour prior to the expiration of the truce, scheduled at 21:00 GMT.
A statement from the Egyptian government, quoted by the official MENA agency, confirmed this new extension.
Meanwhile, Palestinian media allege that both delegations are close to agreeing a truce of several weeks. For their part, the Palestinians also expect the blockade lifting on the Gaza Strip, in force since 2007.
Meanwhile, Hamas negotiator leader Mussa Abu Marsuk, said skeptically. “So far there are not any agreement got and everything that was spread about an imminent agreement is not true,” he said.
