Cevallos was Removed from his Charge Twice in One Week
After Judge Arturo Lara restored Benjamin Cevallos, former chairman of the Judiciary, to his office he was once again removed yesterday by judge Santiago Coba’s new orders. Coba ordered the police to prohibit Cevallos entering the building of the body.
Cevallos arrived yesterday at 15:00 to the building of the judiciary, after Lara reinstate him as Prime Minister. At 18:00 Cevallos left the building after taking his office, but returned at 19:20 to be notified that he was dismissed from his possition again.
In the new resolution, Coba orders is the Constitutional Court to rule on the case. Meanwhile, Cevallos cannot perform his duties as Chairman of the Board.
Cevallos said he would meditate to sue minister Serrano for sending police to prevent him to enter his office last Wednesday and recalled that he posed on him a moral damages trial when he was Minister of Justice. (BG)
