After the statements made by Pierina Correa, sister of the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and one of the seven members of the political Council of AP in Guayas, the President denied the existence of divisions in the interior of Alianza PAIS (AP) in Guayas.
Correa said that there are no differences, and that the statements of his sister are “very unfortunate opinions” and he does not share them “at all”.
Pierina Correa made strong criticism on the pre-candidates of Alianza PAIS, among them, the Minister of sport, Jose Francisco Cevallos, whose name was proposed to run for Mayor of Milagro. The official said that “he is the worst and largest enemy of the province of Guayas”.
“The statements are ridiculous, even Pepe Pancho Cevallos is from Guayas. If he runs for Mayor of Milagro, first, he will win by far; second, he would be a remarkable Mayor, because he has been an extraordinary and historic Minister of sport”, said the President.
Alejandra Vicuña, who is part of the political Council in Guayas, as representative of the Alfarista Bolivarian Alliance (ABA), said that the statements of Pierina Correa are “her responsibility”.
“It is not an unanimous criterion of Alianza PAIS. Her statements are not ours”, said Vicuna.
