Changes to the Law of Communication will not be made at ‘the convenience of the means’
Ecuadornews:
The Government distances itself from the reform proposals to the Law of Communication, raised by several social groups, that arose in the verge of the call to a National Dialogue by President Lenin Moreno.
The Secretary of Communication of the Government Palace Álex Mora affirmed yesterday that it is “time to enter into a thorough revision process” that will be made at the table of Agreement for Information, but regretted that those involved want to convert this “possible revision in the priorities of the Government.”
“Journalists make proposals, only in favor of journalists. In short, a law tailored to the media, and we can not go back on that,” said Mora in a forum for the analysis of the law, organized by AP Legislator Jorge Yunda, attended by representatives of the society and the Superintendency of Communication (Supercom).
