Chavez’ Doctors Decided to Stop his Treatment
Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, reappeared last Monday after a week of absence only to dismiss the rumors about his failing health. After a brief phone talk the leader assured that he will be in shape for the elections in October 7.
A week after Chavez did not appear in the media until recently, only to inform that he is loosing his fight against cancer, and that most of the time he is under the effect of sedatives due to the intense pain he suffers.
Rafael Poleo, editor and owner of the newspaper El Nuevo País wrote that “The Venezuelan president is no longer in conditions to rule the country. He has entered the final stage of his disease, suffering from great physical pains that force him to be in a permanent and extreme sedation.”
The medical team of Chavez informed the suspension of the radiotherapy treatments since his hip can no longer resist more. The Venezuelan doctor, Jose Marquina pointed out that Chavez “has an infiltration of the tumor in the femur. The information that I have shows that he has been given radiation to his left femur.” Marquina stated that Chavez could not live to December. (AV)
