Chavez Expects to Undergo Radio or Chemotherapy

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced that he is in the second stage of his treatment for cancer.”Maybe a third stage in the treatment will require the implementation of all known methods, such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy to attack hard any residue,” said Chavez in a telephone conversation with Venezolana de Television.”The first operation (removal of a pelvic abscess) was last month and the other one was on June 20,” said the head of state as he noted that the cancerous tumor removed in the second intervention was the size “of a baseball ball.”

The president said he could not give more details of his treatment and that he will receive instructions from their doctors in the coming hours.
