Chavez Goes Back to Cuba to Treat his Cancer
Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, began today his second treatment phase against cancer. Chavez was received in the Jose Martí airport by his Cuban colleague, Raul Castro and the Cuban minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodriguez Parrillla.
On Sunday, before leaving Caracas, Chavez announced he would begin chemotherapy. The 56-year-old leader, gave Elias Jaua, his vice president, some faculties during his absence. Chavez assured that he maintains all his faculties to govern his country.
During his meeting with Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV), the president denied his supposed metastasis and affirmed that no more sick cells have been detected nowhere else in his body after the surgery in his stomach to extract the tumor.
Chavez was intervened on June 20 due to a cancerous tumor, and returned on July 4th to his home country. (AV)
