Copa America: Peru Reaches the Semifinals

In the quarter finals games, Carlos Lobaton and Juan Vargas were the Peruvian players that added the two goals against Colombia in the match performed in the city of Cordoba, Argentina. During the first time of the match, the Colombian team had the intention of offering a good game.

The Colombian players directed by Hernan Dario Gomez did not achieved any scores while the Peruvian team director, Sergio Markarian, showed boldness and earned their first score in the minute 101 of the extra time Carlos Lobaton added the first point. Five minutes later Juan Vargas set the victory goal.

Peru became the first team to arrive into the semifinals of Copa America Argentina 2011. (AV)
