Chavez Made Surprise Trip to Cuba
The health of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez controversy renews after his surprise trip to Cuba, the last weekend.
Government spokesmen have chosen not to give any comment, however several media say it is a breakdown in the health of President Chavez.
Nelson Bocaranda, a columnist for the newspaper El Universal said that “the president has ignored the piece of advice given by his doctors and his family members, even Fidel Castro, in terms of the required rest that he needs to overcome the ravages of the disease (…)”.
According Bocaranda, the president would have made superhuman efforts to apply steroids to hide his illness.
Meanwhile, Brazilian journalist Marvel Pereira of newspaper O Globo said that Chavez cancer has metastasized toward his liver, and it is unlikely that he will recover his health for when the presidential elections are held in October. (AV)
