Chilean Students will meet Sebastian Piñera
Today the Confederation of Chilean University Students (Confech) accepted to dialogue with the president of their country, Sebastian Piñera, in an attempt to solve the student demonstrations that has been maintained for the last three months.
The acceptance for the dialogue occurred during this Sunday morning in the city of Temuco, located at 672 kilometers of the south of Santiago. Piñera called the dialogue after a national strike of two days made by the Unitary Workers Central (CUT by its Spanish acronym) that left a teenager and 153 policemen death. 53 civilians were injured.
Giorgio Jackson, president of the students to Universidad Catolica, stated that this is the first approach from the government to hear the students’ reform plan. (AV)
